Dairy Free Ice Cream

Finding a great tasting ice cream when you are lactose intolerant or vegan can be pretty difficult. But, dairy free ice creams are often healthier than say, a pint of Ben and Jerry’s. Due to the dietary restrictions, dairy free ice cream has less sugar and fat compared to regular ice cream because it uses a non-dairy base. It’s also packed with soy protein. Many vegan ice cream companies offer gluten and nut free ice creams as well so no one needs to suffer on a hot day!

Here are a few dairy free ice creams that are almost like the real thing!

Nada Moo

Nada Moo is a coconut milk based ice cream. The company started in 2004 making just small batches for friends and family in Austin, Texas. After word got around about how dairy free ice cream can be amazing, Nada Moo took their product to the grocery stores. This ice cream is USDA organic, non-GMO, vegan, gluten-free and fair trade certified!

Breyers Non-Dairy

Breyers non dairy ice cream is made with almond milk. Although there are only two flavors currently, Vanilla Peanut Butter and Oreo Cookies and Cream, Breyers caters to their loyal customers and can be found at almost every grocery store!

Okay, don’t get too pumped. Not all of Talenti’s flavors are dairy free! Right now, the Peanut Butter Fudge is the only one that doesn't contain milk! Instead, it has a peanut and coconut base. And technically speaking, it is a sorbetto. But hey! The sweet and salty combination is everything you could ask for!
