Raw Honey Is Nutrient Dense

“My son, eat thou honey, for it is good” — King Solomon – Proverbs: 24:13

1. Honey is a favourite of mine.  It is often described as a power food because it is a great source of antioxidants, which can reduce risk of some cancers and heart disease.  It is also increases athletic performance as it is superior in maintaining glycogen levels and improving recovery time.

Problem many of my clients have is not knowing what type of honey to buy - natural, pure, raw….

2. Nature essentially means no artificial additives, pure means its without any additives (including natural ones) and raw means no additives or processing.  There are no requirements for honey labelling so you need to check out labels to ensure you know what you are buying.

I recommend raw honey not only because I think it tastes better but it includes more antioxidants, more enzymes and it has been proven to have the ability to relieve allergies.

One last tip - don’t be put off by the look of raw honey because it won’t look as golden as pure and natural alternatives because it has not been heated or filtered and has not gone through a preservation process.
